This billing error message is usually due to a problem with the Google Play Store app or the internet connection.
- Make sure that your device is connected to the Internet.
- Go to your Android Settings / Applications / Google Play Store and choose the “Clear Cache” option.
- Launch the Google Play Store app on your device and wait till it completely loads.
- Launch the Athan Alarm app and try to purchase or restore the app again.
If this still doesn’t help, please make sure that you have installed all the latest system updates available for your device and that you are running the latest version of the Google Play Store app. You may also try to restart your device.
If your device is running Android 2.0 or 2.1, please note that the latest version (v3) of the Google billing service unfortunately requires you to run Android 2.2 or above.
If you are using an Android device and downloaded the Athan Alarm application from the Google Play Store, all payments for the Premium version have to be processed by Google.
Although the Google Play Store offers the ability to pay via Direct Carrier Billing or Paypal on a limited number of countries, you may still need to use a credit or debit card in your location
If you are trying to pay your purchase with a credit or debit card on Google Play, please note that Google has a very strict anti-fraud policy which can often result in false-positives, meaning that a valid and legit credit card might still be rejected.
If your payment was rejected and if you have double checked all the credit card information you entered on the Google payment dialog (Google Wallet), this might have happened to you.
– Try to enter your complete address (rather than just a country or city) in your Google Wallet profile
– Try a different credit card if you have one
– When Google rejects a payment and flags a card as “potential fraud” for the first time, they usually revalidate the card manually within the next 24 hours. This will unfortunately be sufficient to validate your initial purchase (it’s already been canceled / rejected) but it means that you may try again after 24 hours.
If the problem persists, please try to contact the Google Wallet support team.
Please also note that in some cases, the payment might be rejected by Google although the amount has been debited from your account. When this happens, Google will always credit the money back within the next 24 hours. Please check your bank statement again.
For iOs, it is important that the app has the permission to detect your approximate location to find the qibla (direction to Mecca). Locations services uses the network connection and/or the gps. Also make sure to enable location services in the main settings, be connected to data, and keep the device flat to insure a correct reading.
For android, make sure you have enabled location services in the app settings and that you are connected to data and/or have gps location on.
If the compass is not moving, this usually means the phone has not detected your location. Please follow the above instructions.
If you feel that you are getting an incorrect location, you can re-calibrate your phone by removing any metallic interferences, moving the phone in a figure-eight motion about 5 times.
Prayer Times & Athan Questions
Notifications are unfortunately limited to 30 seconds on Apple Devices. However, if the app is running in the foreground, the full athan should play. You can also set your phone to sleep mode to dim the screen, but keep the athan running in the background. You can also select, test athan, to hear the full Athan.
On Android phones, the notifications stop when you get another notification or you dismiss the notification.
Please make sure you have daylight savings enabled, you can also manually adjust the prayer times in the app settings.
With iOS, due to their limitations, you have to run the app at least once a week. Since prayer times are always changing, the app has to be manually opened to recalculate prayer times. For android, please make sure you are not running any task killers or the greenify app.
With minor differences, you can manually adjust prayer times in the settings. For major differences, please verify your calculation methods and compare with your local masjid.
Prayer is marked with it’s importance in Islam by being one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Before prayer, a Muslim must perform ablution(wudu) and is performed 5 times a day. For a complete explanation please visit the wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salat
